Why Is Cricket Info Password-Protected?

We often get the question, why is so much of the Cricket site password-protected? The reason is that much of our work is sponsored by commercial sources that maintain a proprietary interest in the Crickets. Further, we don't have the resources to support others using the Cricket system. It is for these reasons that technical information related to the Cricket design is not available.
