Modules Ideas for NMAH...
Only things to note are that I tried to leave the guts exposed, on one side or another, so it would be easy to see exactly what they are doing. Also, the LEGO bricks that support each are plentiful, to ensure that they don't fall apart easily. Click on the little photos for the full-size ones. They are kind of blurry though, the macro focus didn't work very well. The numbers are the titles are the amount we are thinking of making.
Sensors

movie
Touch?[ 20 ]
This just wraps up the touch senor to make it bigger and easier to decorate. Mounts easily to a baseplate.
Light? [ 20 ]
This is just a regular light sensor with a small straw attached to it, in order to direct the light.
Wind? [ 15 ]
Robbie made this nice wind sensor, with a reflectance sensor mounted behind a pinwheel.
Near? (distance) [ 20 ]
Just a regular distance sensor, nothing special about it.

Motions

movie
Lil' bob [ 8 ]
Easy to mount things on the vertical shaft. Imagine trees dancing, or waves moving.

Big bob [ 8 ]
Just like the small flower, except this has a larger vertical displacement.

Reel [ 6 ]
Works well, but might be a little too fast. Solid construction. Can pull up, or release upwards.

movie
Sideways bob [ 10 ]
Same movement as above, but turned sideways at the suggestion of one of the kids John Galinato works with. Now you can mount a dancer on the vertical shaft and it will move around in an oval. There is a red motor under the big red gear.

movie
Cam [ 7 ]
Like the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre stuff. A bit more complicated, since it has to gear down twice to get this speed. I would have used a red motor, but I'm not sure how much weight the cam would then be able to lift...

movie
Little spin [ 5 ]
Plain and simple, but you need the cross piece to stablize the axle, otherwise it pops off quite easily.

Stretch [ 15 ]
Again, copied from Galinato's design. Extends and retracts, over and over again.
movie
Big Spin [ 10 ]
Simple, slow spinnning in a circle parallel to the base.

Popper [ 10 ]
Spring-loaded, gives a nice pop.
