July 2006 - Sowing the Seeds for Creative Thinking, MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, MA
In partnership with Building Learning Communities Conference, we will be offering pre and post-conference workshop sessions at the Media Lab. In the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about new technologies that, in the spirit of blocks and fingerpaint of kindergarten, expand the range of what people design, create, and invent-and what they learn in the process.

February 2006 - Scratch and Crickets: New Approaches to Learning and Creativity, Bradesco Foundation Workshop, Sao Paulo, Brazil
This hands-on workshop, facilitated by Mitchel Resnick, Leo Burd, and Rachel Garber, was for teachers and program developers interested in using Scratch and Crickets in schools and community centers. Participants created Scratch and Cricket projects and discussed challenges, opportunities, and strategies for using these new technologies in a variety of school and after-school programs.

January 2006 - Creating with Crickets: Integrating Art and Technology to Support Creative Thinking and Learning
Telmex Workshop, Mexico City, Mexico

In this hands-on workshop, facilitated by Mitchel Resnick and Andrés Monroy Hernández, participants from the Secretaría de Educación Pública (Department of Education), Computer Clubhouse, and Centro de Cultura Digital (Telmex) had the opportunity to create interactive inventions using Crickets and discuss strategies for introducing Crickets to children and teens.

 

 

January 2006 - Interact with Scratch: Scratch in Schools , New England Teacher Workshop, MIT Media Lab
During this one-day workshop, educators in the Greater Boston area had the opportunity to “Interact with Scratch” and think about how to integrate Scratch into their classrooms or learning centers. Participants are currently piloting Scratch in their communities and will share their experiences in a follow-up workshop at the end of the school year.
